About The Author

J.D. Romero is a Colombian-born writer and poet working from the diaspora. He divides his time between France and Colombia. He studied English Literature at the University of Central Florida in the U.S. and is now pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing & Publishing at the University of Lincoln in the U.K. When he’s not writing and creating stories for La Jungla, he can often be found watching films, playing video games or exploring his love of acting for the camera.

Poetry Achievements


2009 – Selected as a Commended Foyle Young Poet by England’s Poetry Society.
2011Night published in 20x20, a London magazine supported by Rosa Gallery and HATO Press.
2012Illumination published on the Poetry Society’s Young Poets Network as part of the Imagined Lives Poetry Challenge.
2012 – Contributed a couplet to the Young Poets Network Giant Olympic Relay Poem, curated by Chloe Maughan.
2013Select Country published in Myths of the Near Future by the National Association of Writers in Education and Dead Ink Publications.
